Jesse Smith joined the firm of Glassman & Zissimopulos after a diverse legal career in the public and private sectors. A native of Gainesville, Florida, Jesse graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 2002 before attending law school at the University of Maryland. Before receiving his J.D., Jesse interned with the Office of the State’s Attorney in Gainesville and the Office of the Federal Public Defender in Baltimore, Maryland.

About Jesse Smith
Upon graduation, Jesse served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Gainesville and prosecuted various cases.
After making the transition to private criminal defense, Jesse has handled a host of criminal matters, including Driving Under the Influence, Drug Trafficking, Sexual Battery, and Attempted Murder.
Jesse also has broad civil litigation experience in the areas of contracts, employment, civil rights, administrative actions, licensure defense, forfeiture, and personal injury. He has authored and argued appeals in State and Federal Court in criminal, civil, and administrative matters.

I am married, and my wife Jan is also an attorney here in town; she works for the State of Florida. We have two little girls: Norah and Charlotte.
I like to stay physically fit. I enjoy running and have completed ultramarathons. I don’t have much time for it anymore, but I do like to play golf.
I really enjoy things from the 80’s and 90’s including music and movies. Arnold Schwartzenegger is my favorite actor, and Jurassic Park is my favorite movie.
I am a huge Gator fan and enjoy watching Gator sports.
Our family loves animals. We have 3 cats and a Russian tortoise.
